A veterinarian by day and musician by night, Angelee has been performing at venues for 12 years since his undergrad days at Virginia Tech.

“These two things are my passion and it is a great blessing to make time for both,” said Angelee who independently released two CDs – Cool Rain and Open All Night (now available on iTunes).

Although he is a singer/songwriter for the mere enjoyment, Angelee said it would be cool to open a show for U2 or The Police one day. “Other than that I will let my music take me where it takes me,” he said with a laid back approach.

Working on a third album, Angelee is more concerned with the quality of the final product than whether his fans, critics and prospects will be pleased with the overall sound or not. “The goal isn’t about trying to become rich and famous,” he said.

Scheduled to appear in Rehoboth on Friday night at Obie’s Restaurant and Saturday afternoon in Dewey Beach at Jimmy’s Grille, Angelee is excited to incorporate some originals with his covers.

“I think the audience learns something from the musician as a person,” he said. “Usually I just sneak it into the line-up instead of doing an introduction just so I can wait for a reaction.” 

With an ability to appease just about anyone, the down-to-Earth musician performs songs mostly about relationships and love lost with an upbeat/positive approach; he has also been known to draw you in with what you know and keep you there through his originals according to Justin Collins of Northern, Virginia.

“Angelee plays original music that you’ve known and loved your whole life,” he said.

Elliott Freed of Blacksburg, VA said that Angelee’s shows are the most fun he has been to.

“I prefer his version of cover songs compared to the original artists,” he said. “You will be pleasantly surprised when hearing him the first time.”

Freed’s wife, J.C. complimented Angelee’s charisma on stage and said, “there can be like 20 or 30 girls in a room and it is like he is singing only to you.”
